Blackpool Council is looking to appoint 3 ranked contractors on a framework (per lot) to supply skilled and trained operatives on a flexible and temporary basis to support the existing in-house team to deliver various works across the town.
• Lot 1 Highways Day to Day Operatives – General maintenance of Highways and Public Realm.
• Lot 2 Drainage Works – Excavation. Repairs to the Council’s drainage infrastructure, collapsed sewers, gully replacement and all other associated maintenance of the Council’s drainage assets.
• Lot 3 Drainage works - High Pressure Jetting, de-silting, CCTV investigations, root cutting of the Councils drainage assets up to 1,200mm diameter
This contract covers day shifts for highways day to day maintenance. Overtime and weekend working may be a requirement.
The framework will operate between 1st April 2025 and 31st March 2027 with an option to extend for 1 year plus a further 1 year.
Lot 1 - Highways Day to Day Operatives - General maintenance of the Highway & Public Realm
The intention is to carry out various aspects of the work e.g. laying block paving, kerbs, flagstones, general maintenance of highways assets. Laying tarmac/reinstating potholes. This work can take place across the town.
Typical duties will include:
• Tarmac Laying
• Concrete Laying
• Kerbing, Flagging and Blocking
• Maintenance and repair of Highway Related Assets
• Work on own or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Lot 2 - Drainage Work - Excavations
The intention is to investigate, identify, repair and record excavations onto Highways and other public sewers. This work can take place across the town.
Typical duties will include:
• Excavation in made/unmade ground to locate and repair defective pipework
• Connection of various sized pipes in varying materials
• Backfill and reinstatement of the excavation
• Record and submit detailed report of the repair
Drainage digs require a suitable wagon for tools and spoil along with a mini-excavator.
Lot 3 - Drainage Work –High Pressure Jetting
The intention is to investigate, identify, repair and record cctv surveys along with a detailed video report onto Highways and other sewers. This work can take place across the town.
Maintenance of other assets by means of de-silting (up to 1,200mm diameter as well as pumping station wet wells), root cutting of sewers, various diameters.
