This framework agreement is split into 11 Lots covering the main waste services contracted bythe NHS and wider public sector bodies. Lot 1A - General/Domestic Waste (Hazardous and Non-hazardous):The service under this Lot covers the provision of the full range of general/domestic waste and dry mixed recycling (DMR) services including both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Lot 1B – Food Waste:The requirements of this Lot is for providing food recycling services across NHS premises, aiming to ensure efficient, hygienic, and environmentally responsible recycling of food (organic) waste. Increasingly the NHS is seeking to minimise food waste by a variety of means including but not limited to monitoring & measuring food usage to minimise waste, digitally mapping food provision to patients, exploring partnerships to make use of excess food and on-site treatment of food waste. Where these options are not in scope a service will be required to collect, process and compliantly dispose of this waste stream separately from other organic and other waste streams. Lot 1C – WEEE WasteThe requirement of this Lot is for the collection, recovery, reuse, recycling and treatment of all waste electrical and electronic equipment defined under Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 and additionally Categories of EEE contained within Schedule 3 covered by the Regulations from January 2019. This service will ensure that WEEE is handled in an environmentally responsible manner, complying with all relevant regulations and standards.For further information of eligible entities please see Lot 1 – Section II.2.4

Lot 2A - Healthcare (Offensive Waste)This Lot outlines the requirements for providing Healthcare Offensive waste services across NHS premises, aiming to ensure efficient, hygienic, and environmentally responsible recycling of Healthcare Offensive Waste.For further information of eligible entities please see Lot 1 – Section II.2.4

Lot 4 – Washroom WasteThis Lot covers the provision of feminine hygiene, incontinence and nappy waste containers and the provision and on-going maintenance of the hygiene bins and other washroom products where required as part of the services.For further information of eligible entities please see Lot 1 – Section II.2.4

Lot 5A – Confidential Shredding This Lot covers the provision of a secure, disposal confidential shredding service which may be both on-site and off-site.For further information of eligible entities please see Lot 1 – Section II.2.4

Lot 5B - Secure IT (WEEE) Recycling & RecoveryThis Lot is for the provision of a secure, collection and recycling and environmentally sound disposal (where no other option exists) service for redundant IT electrical equipment. Some of this electrical equipment may contain confidential or sensitive information. These items include, but are not limited to, Desk Top computers and tower units, laptops, personal computers, mobile phones, tablets, monitors, printers, servers and other miscellaneous IT equipment.For further information of eligible entities please see Lot 1 – Section II.2.4
