The City of Doncaster Council is to establish a Flexible Procurement System (FPS) for the Provision of Children's Specialist Education Services under the light touch regime. The FPS for the Provision of Children's Specialist Education Services is part of the continuum of services that support children, young people, and their families. It provides a structured and organised approach that outlines the principles, guidelines, and strategies for providing specialist education provision to children and young people with unique learning needs or specific challenges such as school avoidance, trauma response behaviour or other emotional or behaviour concerns. This framework serves as a blueprint for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that are tailored to address the diverse requirements of these children and young people, ensuring that they receive effective and targeted support in their learning journey.

The purpose of Engagement and Re-Integration is to establish a connection/rapport with the learner and with the mainstream setting which can be built on to move towards reengagement with learning in the short term.

Alternative Provision to support Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Short / Medium / Long Term reintegration and / or reengagement.

Young People with an Education Health Care Plan (EHC Plan). Where a child or young person’s needs cannot be met within the mainstream or specialist settings then alternative provision may be sourced to provide suitable post 16 provision.
Young people placed within these provisions will be named on roll and the provision will be named in Section I of the EHC Plan.

Support for Children and Young people who are not able to attend their usual school or setting for a variety of reasons.
