The S1133 (2024) contract will facilitate NIE Networks’ internal work requirements associated with the provision of Cable Jointing Services, Replacement of Compound Filled Service Cut-outs and Loop Service Replacement.
• Cable Jointing Services (33kV, 11kV, LV mains and LV service) associated with:
a) Provision of New Customer Connections
b) Fault and Emergency Response (including provision of resources on a standby rota)
c) Asset Installation / Replacement / Upgrade Works
• Installation of steel work and cleating for supporting cables
• Working at Heights (involving competent utilisation of Mobile Elevated Working Platforms, scaffold/platforms and ladders)
• Working in cable basements, cable culverts or other restricted work spaces
• Recording of NIE Networks Asset Information
The Framework Agreement will comprise the following service areas:-
• Turnkey approach to replacement of identified iron-clad and Bakelite compound filled service cut-outs
• Liaise with NIE Networks Contract Manager to ascertain work locations
• Manage all customer information in line with latest Data Protection Legislation
• Customer management including agreeing work programme at each customer property
• Job planning including creating a Field File detailing the agreed works to be carried out at each property for all complex changes
• The materials used for the delivery of this contract shall be via free issue from NIE Networks’ local store against allocated Internal Order No. (Only NIE Networks’ approved materials can be used, in line with LV Jointing Manual).
• Carry out all required civil work activities (if required) at each customer property
• Refit meter, reterminate tails and if necessary replace meter tails
• Carry out all excavation and reinstatement work activities (if required) at each customer property
• Carry out all excavation and reinstatement in public property in line with relevant Street Works legislation
• Carry out all building work activities (if required) at each customer property
• Carry out all electrical work activities (if required) at each customer property
• Carry out all cable jointing activities on Paper Insulated Lead Covered (PILC) and Plastic design cables as agreed at each customer property. These works must comply with the relevant sections of NIE Networks LV jointing Manual including working ‘Live’.
• Have relevant knowledge and experience to report defects on the network and be able to make the correct decisions on how each situation is managed to ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times.
• Develop and update database to provide traceability for all work locations
• Photographic evidence of the asset before, during and after works completed, with a hyperlink to the database
• Report back to NIE Networks Contract Manager on a monthly basis
• Carry out joint inspections of on-going works as requested by the NIE Networks Contract Manager
• Manage and return customer information in line with current Data Protection Legislation as requested by the NIE Networks Contract Manager
